Enjoy your hike with peace of mind thanks to our professional assistance, which ensures safe transfers along the GR® NC1, from Prony to Dumbéa.
Toutazimut offers a comprehensive solution to fully enjoy the GR® NC1, whether you're starting from Nouméa to your chosen stage or heading back to Nouméa from the end of a stage, either from your home or hotel. Axelle has access to all the GR® NC1 shelters, except for the Mine Soleil shelter (stage 6).
Our experienced expert is available to provide you with informed advice and phone assistance throughout your adventure. The GR® NC1 trails are well-marked and regularly maintained, minimizing the risk of getting lost along the way.
However, it is essential to consider a few important factors for this hike. A good physical condition is required, as each day of walking averages 5 to 6 hours, with cumulative positive elevation gains of about 700 meters. The shelters along the trail offer minimal comfort, accommodating 8 sleepers on wooden planks. They are not equipped with mattresses, sleeping bags, or cooking facilities, except for a BBQ area. Electricity and GSM connectivity are not available at the shelters, but nearby water sources can be used for water supply. Facilities include dry toilets, tables, and benches inside the shelters, as well as an outdoor shelter with a table.
What to bring:
BEDDING: mattress (ground sheet, self-inflating mattress), sleeping bag (comfortable at 10°C).
KITCHEN: small bivouac stove, gas, lighter, minimum cooking utensils (1 cup/cup, cutlery, saucepan/plate).
PERSONAL EQUIPMENT: headlamp, batteries, portable battery (for recharging your mobile phone), change of clothes for the night, 1 pair of flip-flops or crocs, first-aid kit, 1 small rucksack for the day's walking, 1 container of water (2 litres).
MEALS: Meals are not provided. Bring simple food to heat up for dinner (soup, dehydrated dishes).
WATER: bring water purification tablets. Non-drinking water.
