In the heart of Dumbéa Park, within a protected natural area normally closed to the public, Dzumac Découverte invites you to experience a 4-hour 4WD buggy excursion through the Dzumac massif. Just 30 minutes from Nouméa, this guided adventure takes you deep into preserved bushland, along mountain tracks, forest trails, creeks and breathtaking viewpoints.
Seated comfortably in buggies driven by experienced guides, you explore these natural landscapes in complete safety, without having to worry about driving. The route follows former mining and forestry tracks, with regular stops to observe local wildlife, endemic flora and gain insight into the history and landscapes of this exceptional reserve.
As the only operator approved by the Southern Province, Dzumac Tour provides privileged access to protected natural areas usually inaccessible to visitors, including the Haute-Dumbéa Reserve, Dumbéa Park and the Côte Oubliée Park. Throughout the excursion, pauses are planned to fully appreciate the environment and discover traces of the region’s mining and forestry past.
The tour runs in small groups, using modern and comfortable buggies (maximum 3 passengers per vehicle), equipped with two-way radios. Your French/English bilingual guide shares local stories and insights along the way, creating a friendly and engaging atmosphere. A light snack break adds a relaxed touch to this immersive outdoor experience.
No licence or driving experience is required — the guides take care of all the driving. All you need to do is sit back, enjoy the ride and soak up the scenery. An ideal activity for couples, friends, families or groups, offering a unique and authentic way to discover a wild and lesser-known side of New Caledonia.
