Led by Bastien Preuss, a doctor in marine ecology, and developed in partnership with Underwater Earth, this immersion project invites schools, the general public, and scientists alike to discover the riches of the Caledonian lagoons.
This gigantic catamaran will serve various functions, ranging from scientific exploration to sustainable tourism. Equipped with two masts, it measures nearly 24 meters in length and 11 meters in width, with the capacity to accommodate around thirty day sailors and house about fifteen people on board. This sea giant will be a crucial tool for raising awareness, especially among young audiences, and conducting scientific expeditions. However, the "Immersion at the Heart of the Lagoons" project also aims to create 360° underwater images using an innovative camera. The Nautilus 360, named after both the emblem of New Caledonia and 360° imagery, will also serve as the central platform for this photo and video capture work.
