  • This trail will lead you to the discovery of the bread oven, one of the historical vestiges of the Grandes Fougères park. You will also find our treasure hunt.

  • This 7.6 km trail, which takes 3 hours to complete, is fairly easy. It starts on a wide track with a gentle slope before reaching the cover of the humid forest. After 25 minutes of walking, you will find the "bread oven" vestige of the colonial era and witness of a human presence in this remote area. The trail continues in the forest, you will pass by a bamboo grove after crossing the Mé Péou creek. While continuing your walk in the wet forest, you will join first, the area of the codias...

You will then cross the beautiful "Houé" river at the level of the Bains de la Houé and return to the reception area by passing in front of the Pompidou Bridge, a vestige of the logging industry of the 1960s.

  • Access
    From Nouméa, take the R.T. 1 to the north west. Go past the village of La Foa. Then turn right to take the direction of Canala on the R.P.5. Follow it for about 1250 m and fork towards the village of Farino. Go past the town hall to the northwest, then at 220 m turn right (V.U.2). Go down into the Farino river valley. 550 m further on turn right on the bridge (R.M.22) and join the PGF reception (good dirt track).
