Hidden in the forest about fifty metres from the main road, Pethoen Cave is home to a variety of magnificent stalactites.
When leaving Wabao, and just before the first houses of Medu tribal village, stop near a bend. On the left, a path goes deep into the forest and leads in just a few minutes to Pethoen Cave. One of the most spectacular in Maré whose subsoil is rich in reserves of fresh water. There is a dense curtain of stalactites along which droplets slide and which endlessly sketch shadows on the surface of the blue, clear water, the scene of endless leaping games organized by the tribe’s children.
