Mont-Dore's central square, Place des Accords, was opened in 2010 and represents the town's values, including the willingness to live together.
The town has created a place where its residents can enjoy themselves close to the marina and its amenities. Internet access is free and there's a bus stop nearby. The illustration on the ground shows the handshake between the loyalists and separatists in 1988, when the Matignon Agreements were signed. This historic date is forever etched in the memory of New Caledonians.
