Step 2: Rue Georges Clémenceau - 3 minutes' walk
In addition to the several snack vendors and Small trendy stores (tableware, decorative items, leather goods, costume jewellery, accessories...), Rue Clémenceau is home to a boutique-studio where you will find a truly unique artistic product made using Megalodon teeth.

Step 3: Rue de Sébastopol - 5 minutes' walk
Jewellery, ready-to-wear ladies’ fashion and organic products contribute to the charm of the meticulously showcased shop windows that run the entire length of this main shopping street. A gourmet stop close to the bandstand is also a must.

Step 4: Rue Eugène Porcheron - 7 minutes' walk
Located close to the Musée de la Nouvelle-Calédonie, crossing through the Moana Center Gallery (where you will find an excellent chocolatier), you will arrive at the gates to the Latin Quarter. There you will find a wide range of snack bars, restaurants and cafés, but also a diverse selection of shops.

Step 5: Quartier Latin (Latin Quarter) - 5 minutes' walk
As you head back down Rue Auguste Brun and its Latin Square, the tableware and interior design brands come one after the other, broken up by the art gallery and bookstore. Everything is bursting with French-style elegance and even the restaurant menus further showcase this expertise.
    Location: 15 rue Auguste Brun

Step 6: Avenue du Maréchal Foch - 10 minutes' walk
After the beautiful Bernheim Library, there is “Le Village” to rest away from the hustle and bustle of the city, on the terrace of a café. Room to unwind, with toy stores for the children and several Pacific souvenirs (cosmetics, clothing and craft) to bring back for your friends.

Step 7: Quartier Asiatique (Asian Quarter) - 3 minutes' walk
With its magnificent arch and its red suspended lamp posts, this is the quarter in which to pick up great bargains at affordance prices, however, it is also the place of refuge of the seamstresses, with their Pacific-inspired dresses and fabrics.
    Location: 23 rue d'Austerlitz

Step 8: Galerie Nouméa Centre - 3 minutes' walk
Beside the Place des Cocotiers (Coconut Square), you will find this eclectic shopping arcade with its continual comings and goings. Souvenir shops line up alongside ready-to-wear fashion boutiques, restaurants, a cybercafé and even a tobacconist/news agent.
    Location: 20 rue Anatole France

If you have a means of transport, here are our suggestions outside the city centre.

Detour 1: Galerie Port Plaisance - 7 minutes drive from the ferry terminal
Nestled between the Baie de l’Orphelinat (Orphanage Bay) and the Baie des Citrons (Lemon Bay), this vast shopping arcade is home to around thirty varied shops and offers a comfortable place to stop, opposite a beautiful marina.
    Location: 10 rue Jules Garnier

Detour 2: Anse-Vata - 15 mniutes drive from the ferry terminal
Right along the must-see Anse-Vata beach, you will find several shopping arcades (in particular the Complexe La Promenade and the Galerie Palm Beach) with a wide range of fashion stores, restaurants, bars and café terraces, very popular with the locals.
