Taxi boat - Île aux Canards

Duck Island is a unique and different place to visit. Plage Loisirs is an approved transport and tourism provider offering crossings to to Duck Island every day of the year. Its flotilla of taxi boats comprises 3 vessels accommodating 12 people each for a quick and flexible service. They depart from the gatehouse behind the Tourism Office in Anse Vata. When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by a team of beach attendants. Then you can choose to relax on a sun lounger in the shade of a “faré” or explore the underwater world with a spot of snorkelling. Take the time to tour the island and you’ll see art works exhibited by about 40 different artists from Oceania. Finally, enjoy a bite to eat at the restaurant and bar with a traditional “faré” thatched roof.

Crossings to Duck Island and Maître Island are every 10 minutes from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm (5.30 pm in high season). Return crossings are at your convenience; you just need to arrange a time on the outbound crossing.
