The green and white livery and illuminated sign on the roof are a clear indication that you’re looking at one of Nouméa's 65 taxis. To order a taxi, you just need to call the switchboard, which operates 24/7. At certain times of the day you can take a taxi from one of the dedicated ranks (Place des Cocotiers, Aquarium des Lagons, Nouméa market, the airports, etc.). The first taxi in the line has priority. You can also hail a taxi directly, as long as it is more than 100 metres from a rank.
