A key event on New Caledonia’s trail running calendar, the Ultra Trail takes runners across stunning natural landscapes — from lush forests to mountain ridges — for an unforgettable outdoor challenge.
Organised by the Union des Trailers de Nouvelle-Calédonie, the Ultra Trail of New Caledonia (UTNC) brings together trail running enthusiasts from across the Pacific. The event offers several race formats, from short discovery runs to ultra-distance trails, all set in the spectacular natural surroundings of the Dumbéa area, the Blue River Provincial Park, and the Great South.
The UTNC’s toughest courses are ITRA certified and UTMB Index eligible, making the event part of the recognised international trail circuit. Participants can also take part in hikes, cani-cross events, or kids’ races, in a warm and eco-conscious atmosphere.
Beyond the sporting challenge, the Ultra Trail celebrates New Caledonia’s breathtaking wilderness and the spirit of adventure that defines the island.
