Sailing and Yacht Charter

in New Caledonia

Welcome to the world of sailing and yacht charter in breathtaking New Caledonia, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the New Caledonian lagoon. Set sail for an adventure like no other!

Navigating around

New Caledonia

Situated in the Southern Hemisphere, New Caledonia enjoys cool winds almost year-round. These trade winds create a mild climate and provide ideal navigation conditions. Whether you’re interested in chartering your own boat (sail or motor) with friends or prefer a leisurely catamaran cruise spanning one or a few days, exploring the stunning lagoon and islands by boat is undeniably one of the best experiences New Caledonia offers.

It was magical to lay on the catamaran and see all those shades of blue flash by as we passed dolphins, then swam with the turtles near the islet…just for us!

The islets of Nouméa

Embark on day trips, sunset cruises, dinner cruises, or sailing lessons with various operators in Nouméa. They offer a wide range of services, including snorkelling gear rental, kayaking, onboard meals, and more. With numerous islets like Larégnère, Signal, and Amédée, along with sheltered spots near the capital, you can enjoy sailing’s simple pleasures even if you’re not an experienced sailor.

Please note

Regular regattas take place in the capital’s bays. The best-known of these, the Groupama Race welcomes boats from different countries every two years, for an exciting tour of New Caledonia!

The Great South Lagoon

Chartering a boat with or without a skipper is an excellent way to explore the South Marine Park, a pristine and otherwise inaccessible region. Cruise itineraries often focus on the “five islets“: Uatérembi, Ua, Uatio, Ngé, and Gi. You’ll have the opportunity to visit secluded beaches and islets while enjoying comfortable cabins with en-suite bathrooms. Relaxation, walks, swims, and mesmerising sunsets await you.

Not to be missed

From mid-July to mid-September, day trips are organised from Nouméa or Prony to observe humpback whales. These cruises allow you to get as close as possible to them, while respecting the regulations designed to protect them.

Upi Bay

on the Isle of Pines

While Kuto Bay is a popular destination for yachts heading to the Isle of Pines, Upi Bay can only be reached via a traditional outrigger pirogue. This unique experience allows you to connect with the essence of sailing—a moment of serenity and relaxation.

Port-Bouquet

on the East Coast

Embark on a week-long journey from Nouméa along the Forgotten Cost (Côte Oubliée) to anchor in the bay of Port-Bouquet. You’ll be captivated by this untamed coastline with its rugged cliffs, ochre rocks, and lush vegetation. The deep blue waters are perfect for relaxation, swimming, and coral reef exploration.

Antigonia and Walpole reefs

Located in the Coral Sea Park just south of Grande Terre, reaching these renowned spots with exceptional seabeds requires several days of sailing. For these extended journeys, consider a super-yacht or maxi-catamaran, offering both pleasure and sailing comfort.
